Peonies are regarded as a symbol of good fortune and a happy marriage. Upon seeing peonies for the first time, Marco Polo exclaimed, “They are roses as big as cabbages!” Peonies come in all colors except blue, and the sugary PINK peony is the most fragrant. Our card shows a luscious pink peony so lifelike you can almost smell it.
By the way, peony petals are edible. In China, the petals are parboiled and sweetened for use as a tea-time delicacy, in summer salads, or as garnish for punches and lemonades.
Peonies are regarded as the symbol of good fortune and a happy marriage. This card makes a lovely wedding invitation, valentine, anniversary card, or congratulation on nuptials.
An artist friend bent the sides of this card into a heart shape and used it for a place card. We’ve posted photos to show you.
We love it when artists use our cards as starting places and add their own touch. A little girl came by yesterday with her glitter pen to decorate her favorites. Feel free to add your own words or decoration to any of our cards. Please send us photos of your embellishments.
This card is especially suitable as a gift to a hostess, bride, a Valentine, a gardener, a thank you note, or for long-lasting love. Peonies can live 100 years!
