Description
The White Rose is a token of our hopes and dreams for the future.
In 14th century England the White Rose was the heraldic sign of the Duke of York who faced off with the Red Rose Lancaster family, leading to the War of the Roses.
Today, the White Rose has retained its associations with true love and formal ceremony, a recognition of unions and ceremonial occasions, such as anniversaries, christenings and graduations, romance, Valentines, engagement announcements, wedding invitations, and gifts for the bride, her mother or mother-in-law, and to signify lasting friendship. It is also a gentle card for a memorial.
