Description
Give her one perfect rose. That’s a start. Next time, make it a limousine. This is a fun witty card.
What does it mean to send a single rose?
The basic meaning is a simple one. This is a beautiful rose, and so are you.
Q. Are there other meanings carried by it being a single flower?
A. Yes. One meaning is that I am devoted to you and no other, or more generally, this is about us, not anyone else. A single elegant flower emphasizes the message. Anyone can send a bouquet, but it takes a special person to send a single flower.
Dorothy Parker:
“One Perfect Rose”
A single flow’r he sent me, since we met.
All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet–
One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;
“My fragile leaves,” it said, “his heart enclose.”
Love long has taken for his amulet
One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet
One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it’s always just my luck to get
One perfect rose.
