The Butterfly Effect is the scientific idea that when a butterfly flutters its wings in one part of the world, it can eventually cause a hurricane in another. Barely imperceptible actions have profound consequences.
The red or blue cover of this card has a circular mandala design with a glimpse of colorful butterfly wings showing through.
Open the card and arrange the butterfly wings to achieve lift off! the wings unfurl and spread, emerging as two butterflies, one with bright lime wings and the other with magenta wings, making a very pretty scene. In nature, as soon as the butterfly has rested after coming out of the chrysalis, it will pump blood into the wings in order to get them working and flapping and in just a few hours the butterfly begins to fly. Because of the way the card is designed, you have to help open the pop-up to achieve transformation. The card is priced accordingly.
This is a thoughtful card about impact and transformation. Give it to a friend to say, “Change is good,” “I’m thinking of you,” or “get well soon,” or “a beautiful moment is coming” or “never doubt that small actions can change the world.”
Without change there would be no butterfly.
Follow your butterflies.
It’s ok, you’re still becoming.
Love is like a butterfly.
Each person’s life is like a mandala – a vast, limitless circle. We stand in the center of our own circle, and everything we see, hear and think forms the mandala of our life.
Just ’cause somethin’ ain’t been done
Don’t mean it can’t be did…
This could be your butterfly moment.
The Butterfly Effect is the phenomenon whereby a minute localized change in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere.
When a butterfly flutters its wings in one part of the world, it can eventually cause a hurricane in another. ~Edward Norton Lorenz, American mathematician, meteorologist, and along with Mary Cartwright a pioneer of chaos theory. He introduced the strange attractor notion and coined the term butterfly effect.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. ~Margaret Mead
“If you are a dreamer come in
If you are a dreamer a wisher a liar
A hoper a pray-er a magic-bean-buyer
If youre a pretender com sit by my fire
For we have some flax golden tales to spin
Listen to the MUSTN’TS, child,
Listen to the DON’TS
Listen to the SHOULDN’TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WON’TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me—
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be.”
~Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends
