What is a Mermaid?
They have been called the Unicorns of the Sea!
She is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. Like fairies, mermaids have magical and prophetic powers. They can be seductive and they can be dangerous. They are known to cause floods, storms, and shipwrecks.
Although little girls see her as the Disney princess Ariel, with her long, flowing, bright red hair and bright blue eyes, our card is a homage to La Sirena, the sultry mermaid of the Mexican Lottery.*
