Kangaroo Quotes:
The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,
Some courageous kangaroos do it.
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.
I’m sure giraffes on the sly do it,
Even eagles as they fly do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love. ~Cole Porter
Two kangaroos were talking to each other, and one said, “I hope it doesn’t rain today. I hate it when the children play inside.” ~Henny Youngman
Mama Kangaroo:
Kangaroo mamas are protective of their babies. They have a pouch where their babies live for their first 6 months to a year after birth. These months of skin to skin bonding make mother and joey particularly close. Seeing a little baby joey peek out through its mother’s pouch is an awe-inspiring sight.
This cute card is perfect for welcoming a new baby to the family. It’s the perfect Mother’s Day card. Give it to an expectant mother or a new mother. Give it to someone named Joey. It’s a fun birthday card for someone who really loves kangaroos. A funny card to give a graduate to say, “time to leave.” Australians love this card!
Kangaroo facts:
Female kangaroos give birth to one joey at a time. Newborns weigh as little as 0.03 ounces at birth – as small as a lima bean! After birth, the joey crawls into its mother’s pouch, where it will nurse and continue to grow and develop. Red kangaroo joeys do not leave the pouch for good until they are more than eight months old. Gray kangaroo joeys wait until they are almost a year old.
There are more kangaroos than humans in Australia. They are the national symbol of Australia and appear on postage stamps, coins, and airplanes.
